WHAT IS DUAL ENROLLMENT?

Dual enrollment at Embry-Riddle gives students a chance to earn high school and college credit concurrently starting as early as ninth grade, and the fully online classes at the Worldwide Campus provide the opportunity to participate in nine-week asynchronous courses.

LEARNING AT EMBRY-RIDDLE The Dual Enrollment program is delivered online by Embry-Riddle’s renowned faculty, who are experts in their fields and offer years of unparalleled practical experience and academic knowledge. All course material is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, allowing students access to lessons when it is most convenient for them.

With seven online terms available throughout the year to maximize flexibility, Embry-Riddle’s program offers an enriching experience with more than 80 courses available to students in the U.S. and around the world. Credits earned through the Dual Enrollment program can be transferred to a range of undergraduate degrees offered by Embry-Riddle, as well as other universities.

The Dual Enrollment program helps prepare students for their futures, providing them lifelong skills along with the knowledge needed to succeed in college and in the workforce.

SUBJECT AREAS

logistics, supply chain management and more ! s General Education Courses For those looking to get a head start in their education, these courses give students familiarity with collegiate- level coursework and the ability to pursue their desired field soon after high school.

s Aeronautics

Designed to prepare students for further education in aviation, this program provides a background on flight principles, aerospace fundamentals, airmen tests and more.

s Aviation Maintenance

For students wishing to pursue studies in aircraft maintenance, this program offers an overview of structures, avionics, electrical systems and engines, among other foundational knowledge.

s Uncrewed Systems This field of uncrewed

systems is growing rapidly. Students in this area learn applied physics principles as well as flight and mission planning, with a lab component for hands-on experience.

s Engineering

Designed for future engineers and similar, this area gives students an introduction to engineering, computing and more, depending on chosen path of study.

s STEM

For students interested in various science, technology, math or engineering fields, this subject area allows students to explore their interests and gain college experience.

s Business

Courses designed to promote entrepreneurship and discovery. Students can choose from various areas such as management, leadership,

COURSE STRUCTURE

Embry-Riddle’s Dual Enrollment program offers nine-week courses with assignments due weekly. Courses are asynchronous, which means no live meeting times or lectures, and all work is completed via the Canvas platform. Time commitment for each course varies from one to two hours per day, and a sample workload includes up to four assignments each week, which may consist of a discussion board, quizzes, group projects, papers or exams.

COMMON QUESTIONS

QUESTION: Do credits earned at Embry-Riddle transfer to other Embry-Riddle locations and other institutions? ANSWER: The classes taken through Dual Enrollment are SACS accredited. Credits are transferable, but we cannot guarantee the transfer of any credits to outside institutions. QUESTION: Can I use financial aid to pay for Dual Enrollment courses? ANSWER: No, since you’ll be considered a non-degree seeking student, you are not eligible for financial aid, military benefits or employee waiver.

QUESTION: Will participation in the program guarantee me admission to Embry-Riddle as an undergraduate? ANSWER: No, although it is favorable, you will have to apply to your chosen campus and follow the admissions process.

QUESTION: Will taking Dual Enrollment courses change my status when I become an undergraduate? ANSWER: No, taking Dual

Enrollment classes does not affect your status upon high school graduation. You will still be considered a first-time student when applying as an undergrad.

QUESTION: How many courses do I have to enroll in? ANSWER: We recommend one course in your first term, but each student is looked at on a case-by- case basis. There is no required course load.
