2026 PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS: Ron Ory Community Garden Plots Site Improvements – Per the Site Master Plan developed in 2022 based on community input, the main gravel parking lot is in the process of being converted to ADA-accessible permeable paver surfacing to better meet the needs of patrons who enjoy activities and programs on site and at Knoch Park. Additionally, this project involves the installation of raised ADA garden beds and drainage improvements. The Naperville Park District received a $60,000 Water Quality Improvement Program (WQIP) grant from DuPage County Stormwater Management Planning Committee and a $785,308 Green Infrastructure Grant Opportunities (GIGO) Grant from the Illinois EPA to assist with replacing the gravel parking lot with permeable pavers at the Ron Ory Community Garden Plots. Playground Renovations – In 2026, the existing playgrounds at Apache Park, Burr Oak, Fox Hill Greens, Knoch Park (with synthetic turf play surfacing), Queensbury Greens, Springhill Park, and Wil-O-Way Park are planned for renovation. Golf Course Improvements – The 2026 Golf Department Capital Plan consists of several asset maintenance items for both courses including landscape improvements, fence renovations, equipment purchases and the addition of autonomous mowers. The work plan for Naperbrook Golf Course involves exterior clubhouse painting/repairs, window replacements, and HVAC improvements, as well as A/E services for bunker/tee enhancements and tee renovations at Holes #1, #4, and #15. The work plan for Springbrook Golf Course includes clubhouse HVAC and freezer replacements, maintenance lot resurfacing, as well as tee expansions and a new pond fountain at Hole #18.
