APRIL 2025

PRINCIPAL’S LETTER Dear JCS Community,

We are moving fast into the 4th quarter at JCS. In March, our 7th-12th grade students participated in “Ski Day” at Fergie, sponsored by the Lions Club.Prior to spring break, the Middle School and High School students began working with local artisans in our Charter Arts Program. Thanks to Mrs. Homan, the Charter Council, and our fantastic local artists, students were able to choose one of 15 different 5 session courses ranging from culinary arts to watercolors or soap making. These classes are held every Wednesday until April 16th. We are so excited to have these great opportunities for our kids beyond their traditional curriculum. As always, if you have ideas of opportunities for our students or would like to volunteer, please let us know. Mr. Gorham

CAP CLASSES | COMMUNITY Community artists are sharing their skills with various high schoolers over this month through weekly classes focusing on craft. Subects range from felting to encaustic painting to documentary photography to fly tying! Check next month’s Eyrie for a gallery of student creations. ENGLISH/L.A. | SCOTT Juniors and Seniors participated in the reading by Ellen Waterson, poet laurete last month at Fishtrap. This month we will be state testing in 11th and 8th grade and are rocking our reading and writing.
