some challenges, represented by the instability of the legislative system and the abundance of laws related to media work. It suggests that although the media system in Jordan is diverse and has various outlets, it does not reflect the diversity of content and expression for different social segments and categories. The state of press freedom during the study period ranged from "partially free" in most years to "not free" or "restricted" at different times. The study reveals that the media system exhibits characteristics of "transitional journalism" as remains subservient to political interests, focusing more on interpretation and justification than on its role in accountability and oversight, thus losing a significant portion of its authority and influence and aligning with government policies.
