The study also examines the types of news and information uncovered by these platforms during the research period, the countries they focused on, the media used, and the relation to polarisation in its various forms using a sample of platforms, namely Anti-Rumors Authority, Fatabyyano and Misbar, during the period between November and December 2022. Some of the key findings of the study are that sports news and content were at the forefront of the materials verified by these platforms, and that Qatar was the country most targeted by this type of material. The study also found that videos were the most used medium, followed by images, and that Facebook was the most used social media network for the dissemination of fake news and disinformation.
