This is a simple and inclusive way of helping everyone get things right when addressing people that they might not be very familiar with, especially in the current climate where we have more interaction over email and
WHY SHARING PRONOUNS SHOULD NOT BE REQUIRED Sharing your pronouns if they don’t match what people have assumed is often not safe, may involve people making other assumptions about you, and may in any case not be something you’re ready to do. But any time you share your pronouns, whether in an email signature or in person, you make space for the person you’re talking to share theirs without making it necessary for them to do so. WHAT WE CAN DO AT BDO? If people want to and feel comfortable doing so, they are welcome to add pronouns to the bottom of their email signature. Below is an example of what that might look like. This has been reflected and updated on the email signature guidance page on Insite, which you can find here.

video than ever before. USING PRONOUNS
Colleagues that work for BDO, or indeed, those that work for our clients may have indicated their pronouns (either verbally or through their email signature). Be mindful and respectful of these when referring to them either in speech or in correspondence (especially even when they are not there as it helps you and others remember the correct pronouns). We all make mistakes – and sometimes these are easy to do. If you have inadvertently used an incorrect pronoun, calmly apologise and move on.
