He insisted that I would be fine. I started having a complete breakdown. I was hysterical! I yelled at him telling him that I am NOT the girl for you! I know lots of women let me find another girl for you. Please do not leave me here! Imagine, I couldn’t swim, what if he did not come back up!!! Oh,“You will be fine,” is what he said….REALLY???? To make long story short, he stopped, did not go in. I would have had a heart attack if he left. He did not speak another word to me. He got in the boat, took the wetsuit off, started the boat and went straight back. We never said another word. Thank you Jesus! He was an adventurer, that’s not me. I don’t like scary things. It was the worst date I ever had.
DICK CAMPBELL (60’s - 70’s)
Dick was my boss at the Real Estate company, A.J. Richter. He was a great mentor, supporter, and within time became the love of my life. Unfortunately, he was married, unhappy, but I would not consider marrying anyone again, ever. Dick was a former Houston Oiler’s football player, big, strong, and a teddy bear. He had one of the worst knee injuries in football history at that time. He knew how to treat a woman. Emotionally, he was very needy. Eventhough we dated for so many years, I insisted he stay in his marriage for his kids. He also became somewhat of a father to my kids. He was very supportive and encouraging to all three. We were together for seven years. He finally divorced and moved to Texas and asked me to go with him, but I had my mother to take of so, sadly I declined his offer. It broke my heart, but I knew it was the best thing for me. It was years of heartbreak that eventually subsided.
RALPH GOLDBERG (70’s)
Ralph was so lovely, first class, which I liked, however, he was smothering me to death. Oh my. He owned a shopping center right off bayview drive. He was married to a JAP (Jewish American Princess) and very unhappy. Nevertheless, the relationship did not last.
AND THEN THERE WAS THE CANAL GUY (70’s)
I met guy at a beautiful fancy first class night club. Everybody uses to go there. This guy was successful and asked me out to dinner. I told him I’d love to but I had to get up early the next morning, so I had to be home
