A s s Owners and Center Directors of Mathnasium of South Baton Rouge, Skip and Cindy Sharrer help Louisiana students build both a stronger under- standing of challenging math concepts and the confidence to tackle them. Cindy brings more than 40 years of experience as a CFO, offering financial and administrative leadership, while Skip holds a master’s degree in mathematics from UCLA and brings experi- ence in IT as well as years of teaching in both academic and church settings. Together, they are united by a shared passion for education and helping students strengthen their understand- ing of math at its core. At Mathnasium of South Baton Rouge, students begin with an assessment that identifies skill gaps. From there, a personalized learning plan is created to target their specific individual needs. The center emphasizes foundational mas- tery and conceptual understanding, supported by trained instructors and a low student-to- instructor ratio that allows for consistent, individualized attention. Equal importance is placed on confidence build- ing. Through ongoing assessments and small celebrations of progress, Skip and Cindy keep students engaged and motivated as they build skills. Students may enter at all levels, but the focus remains steady: strengthening under- standing, rebuilding confidence, and improving classroom performance. Beyond the math instruction center, Skip and Cindy are also focused on expanding access to academic support in the community. They continue to explore partnerships that can help ensure more students are able to receive the support they need, regardless of financial circumstances.
