Placement: All recycling, trash, brush and bulk items must be at the curb by 7 a.m. on your collection days. Closed Lids: All cart lids must be completely closed. Large, broken-down cardboard boxes are allowed outside the cart on your recycling collection day. Extra bags of trash are allowed outside the cart on your second trash service day. Cart Placement: Carts should be placed with the wheels against the curb or at the edge of the alleyway. Large Bulk and Unbundled Brush: Place items at the front curb, as close to the street as possible. Do not block the bulk pile or unbundled brush pile with vehicles. Please allow 16 feet overhead clearance above piles to allow for Grapple claw to move and service.

To dispose of medical sharps safely, place the needles in a puncture- proof container. You may place that sealed container in your regular trash cart when ready. For medical waste, please bag and place in trash cart, ensuring no needles are exposed. Examples of puncture-proof containers.

The City of DeSoto hosts an annual Household Hazardous Waste collection event each spring. If you cannot wait for this event, you can dry your water-based paint with sand, dirt, or kitty litter. Once dry, place the can in your regular trash with lid off.

Construction debris is now allowed in weekly trash, as part of your second service day bulk or extra trash option. You may put up to 3 cubic yards total of items outside the trash cart.
