Auburn women’s basketball adds standout transfer Paris Mullins, a transfer from Butler Community College, has signed a National Letter of Intent/ financial aid agreement to play for the Auburn women’s basketball team next season, Mullins, a 6-2 forward out of McDonough, Ga., who played her high school ball at Henry County HS, comes to The Plains after one season each at Butler CC (Kan.) and Walters State CC (Tenn.). “I’m so excited to have Paris as part of our Auburn women’s basketball family,” said head coach Johnnie Harris “Paris has a skill set that fits very well with our system. She is a highly motivated young lady, both on and off the court, and she will be a very important piece to the process of building our program.” Mullins averaged 10.0 points and 5.7 rebounds as a sophomore at Butler CC, starting 21 of 23 games. She earned All-Conference honors for her efforts and helped lead her team to the NJCAA national tournament in 2021. She scored in double-figures 12 times during the season. As a freshman at Walters State, she averaged 13.4 points and 7.3 rebounds per game while shooting 48.3 percent from the floor. Starting 25 of 29 games, she recorded seven double-doubles while helping the Senators to a 20-10 record. She averaged 12.8 points and 9.0 rebounds as a high school senior at Henry County and was an honorable mention all-state selection in class AAAA. University of Alabama men's basketball player Joshua Primo has announced his intentions to forego his remaining collegiate eligibility and officially enter his name in the 2021 NBA Draft. Primo is coming off a freshman season in which he made 19 starts across his 30 games played and averaged 8.1 points, 3.9 rebounds and 22.4 minutes per game. The 18-year-old Toronto, Ontario, native earned SEC All- Freshman honors and was recently named to the SEC First Year Academic Honor Roll. “This has been a lifelong dream for Josh and I am extremely excited for him and his family. He’s been great to coach and I am grateful that they trusted our staff to help prepare him for this moment. Our team had a successful season last year and Josh played a big part in that success. We couldn’t be happier that his hard work is paying off. He is a terrific young man who has been an incredible representative of our program,” commented Alabama head Basketball Nate Oats. 2021 USA Softball 16-U Junior Olympic Cup Champions
The 16-U Hotshots Premier 2022 Alabama girls’ softball team recently won the 2021 USA Softball JO (Junior Olympic) Cup. The event was held from June 20-25 at the South Commons Complex in Columbus, GA. Comprised of athletes from three different states, the Hotshots Premier 2022Alabama team reportedly went 6-0 in bracket action in the tournament. In the finals, the team rallied to defeat the Ohio Hawks 16U National Team. After trailing 2-0 early, Hotshots Premier came back to win the game 5-3.
