By Katie Davis I n a recent Blog post last week from the popular payment proces- sor giant, PayPal, announced that it would be discontinuing mobile apps for Windows Phone, BlackBerry, and Amazon’s Fire OS. The company says that it will be focusing exclusively on app support for iOS and Android devices and Paypal would be leaving other formats. To be honest, that really does not affect many users as industry results show that in the first quarter of 2016, Apple and Google accounted for 97% of all Smartphone sales. This leaves little room for competition or the need to focus on a 3% market share giving PayPal little to no incentive to continue in the mar- keting sector.
