378 THE KING’ as essential a part of eternal life as knowl edge of God the Father. CONCLUSION : There is no room left to doubt the absolute Deity o f Jesus Christ. It is a glorious truth. The Saviour in whom we believe is God, a Saviour for whom nothing is too hard, a Saviour who can save from ,the uttermost and save to the uttermost. Oh, how we should rejoice that we have no merely human Saviour, but a Saviour that is absolutely God. On the other hand, how black is the guilt o f reject ing such a Saviour as this ! Whoever refuses to accept Jesus as his Divine Saviour and Lord is guilty o f the enormous sin of rejecting a Saviour Who is God. Many a man thinks he is good because he never stole, or committed murder, or cheated. “ O f what great sin am I guilty?” he com placently asks. Have you ever accepted Jesus Christ? “ No.” Well, then, you are guilty of the awful and damning sin of A Protest T HE following 1resolution, addressed to “The President o f the United States, The Honorable Woodrow Wilson, Wash ington, D. C.,” was unanimously adopted at a meeting held in the Bible Institute Auditorium, Los- Angeles, Cal., at which 3000 persons were present: WHEREAS, W e understand that there have been appointed as chaplains to serve among our American forces certain Chris tian Scientists. BE TT THEREFQRE RESOLVED, That we, a company o f 3000 Christian citi zens o f Los Angeles, in conference assem bled this night at the Bible Institute Audi torium o f Los Angeles, do hereby protest the appointment of such men in view o f the fact that the system they represent denies the reality o f pain, suffering, human dis order and war, and opposes absolutely all the fundamentals of historic Christianity upon which the Constitution o f the United States is based. Presented by Dr. G. A. Brieglief, Pastor Westlake Presbyterian Church. It has been suggested that every evan gelical church in the country should pass a similar resolution and forward it to the President o f the United States. ,
BUSINESS rejecting a Saviour Who is God. “ But,” you answer, “ I do not believe that He is God.” That does not change the fact nor lessen your guilt. Questioning a fact or denying a fact never changes it,-regardless o f what Mary Baker Eddy may say to the contrary. Suppose a man who had a wife who was one o f the noblest, purest, truest women that ever lived, would her husband’s questioning her purity and nobility change the fact? It would not. It would simply make that husband guilty o f awful slander, it would simply prove that man to be an outrageous scoundrel. So denying the Deity o f Jesus Christ does not make His Deity any less a fact, but it does make the denier o f His Deity guilty o f awful, incred ible blasphemous slander. It does prove you who deny His deity to be —. I leave your own consciencevto finish the sentence. Real Sacrifice This needs no comment. Go thou and do likewise. Dear Brother Horton: I received your letter a few days ago, enclosing circular describing the “ Fellowship Association” work. Will say that I am in sympathy with your work, and ask God’s blessing upon you and the work. However I am not in a position to join the Association now. I am a crippled man and have to earn our living by labor; my wife takes in washing to help along, too, so money comes in slow. W e are supporting a Sabbath School in Japan, and with our own church obligations and other missionary work, we don’t have much to spare, but I am sending you here with a money order for $2 for the Fel lowship Association work. Yjou can use it wherever it is most needed, or will do the most good. I want to say that I do enjoy T he K ing ’ s B usiness very much. It is very helpful to me. May God bless you and all the workers abundantly, is my prayer. Yours in Christian love and fel lowship, W . E. S.
