mightily during the remaining years o f his life. Earnest invitations are coming in from missionaries who long to have one o f our partiés come into their fields. How I do thank God for the record o f clfean living and enthusiastic service that our men leave behind them in every place. Oh how we need to pray that this may continue to be the case. How much depends on their daily walk with God ! Hold up our hands, brethren; the opportunity is so great; God has blessed richly in the past, let us not miss any o f the blessing He has for us. ------------ 0 --------- - One of “ Our Own” In a letter just received from one o f our former students, now a pastor in north ern New York, he says: “How Often I think o f and live over again in memory the days spent at the Institute in class room, corridor, prayer meeting, Bible study, and practical work. W e are very busy here and thank the Lord for such an oppor tunity. W e received quite a substantial Christmas gift from members and adher ents to the church. The best part o f the remembrance was that two men not mem bers o f the church were the most liberal in giving. One was formerly prominent in the work o f the church, but personal difficul ties drove him away a number o f years ago. The other has styled himself as the most thorough-going agnostic o f the sec tion. Both have been coming to the ser vices faithfully and are now among my most loyal partisans. A few o f us have banded together privately to pray for thé definite conversion o f both o f these men. The winning ' o f them, without any other visible fruits, will be well worth our work here. I thank God for ever having allowed me the privilege o f the teaching and the personal touch o f the Faculty o f the Bible Institute.”

to many o f them and lead them to a living faith in Jesus Christ. With one blessed incident o f the work on the field I must close. Last spring Mr. Cheng’s party was working in a district where there were many' vegetarians. A number o f them were deeply influenced and seemed ready to accept Christ, when their leader learned o f it and strictly commanded them to have nothing to do with our col porteurs nor with the Gospel. Several times our men called on this leader, Tseng Chun- Lin, but he would never receive them. They prayed much about it, and one day they met him on the road; he would not acknowledge his identity but seemed truly interested in their message and accepted with courtesy some o f their books. After much prayer they again went to his home and were most cordially received. After this the men o f this party spent some time in prayer and fasting for this man, and to their great joy- the old priest, Tseng, with several o f his disciples, came to one o f the evangelistic services held by our men. Mr. Tseng, over seventy years o f age, a vegetarian o f many years standing, and a leader o f his sect with over a thousand disciples; a min highly esteemed and of g>reat influence throughout a large section o f country; this man at last believed the Gospel message and accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour. He attended the Bible classes o f our men for a long time, eagerly improving every opportunity to learn more o f Christ and the way o f salva tion. He has been baptized in one o f the China Inland Mission churches, has turned his temple into a place o f prayer, and he is giving his life with eager enthusiasm to leading his old vegetarian disciples, one by one, to faith in Jesus. There is a row o f villages where there are now Christians, as a result o f God’s blessing on the work o f our men. Mr. Tseng’s village is in the center of the row, and people come from these various villages to his central village, to have united Bible study and prayer. Truly God has made him a light in a dark place. Let us pray that God may use him
