ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR Candidates for appointment, reappointment, or promotion to Associate Professor have fulfilled the expectations described for appointment to Assistant Professor. Appointment as Associate Professor requires excellent contributions and/or dedication to the fulfillment of departmental goals. There is an expectation of scholarly productivity (such as participation/presentations at regional and/or national meetings, or publications) or special efforts that enhance the profession. PROFESSOR Candidates for appointment, reappointment, or promotion to Professor have fulfilled the expectations described for appointment to Associate Professor. Appointment as Professor is a distinct honor requiring continuing long term contributions to teaching, service and/or scholarly productivity. REAPPOINTMENT Reappointment requires recommendations from colleagues and the departmental director indicating the candidate has fulfilled all requirements of the rank. The individual's contributions to the success of the departmental program(s) must bedocumented. PROMOTION Promotion to a higher rank is an indication of the candidate's fulfillment of qualifications for that rank and excellent contributions to the department's teaching, research, or clinical programs. Supportive recommendations from colleagues within and outside the department, the department director and ARPT committee are required.
