FMF Exhaust Packing To restore peak power, optimal performance and the quick throttle response you’ve grown to expect from your FMF exhaust, FMF recommend repacking your muffler every 10-30 hours depending on the type of riding you do. Riding in the higher RPM range as opposed to the low to mid will accelerate packing deterioration and under these conditions, the packing material should be replaced more frequently. Water will ruin muffler packing which is why FMF always recommend plugging the exhaust outlet when washing motorcycles or ATVs. Always repack if water enters the muffler and saturates the packing.
