Vertex Piston Kits - 2 Stroke As the OE supplier of 2-stroke pistons to KTM, Vertex pistons has an outstanding reputation for quality and performance. Each gravtiy cast piston is created with only premium aluminium alloys utilizing an 12-21% silicon content. The silicon content in Vertex pistons is crucial to the quality of the piston - it’s critical in decreasing thermal expansion which, when an engine reaches normal operating temperatures, can change the geometry of the piston. Controlling this expansion means Vertex pistons can be run at tighter tolerances for more power, less noise and a longer lifespan of the piston. Vertex Piston Kits - 4 Stroke When it comes to power and perforance, Vertex 4 stroke pistons are hard to beat. Forged to the highest quality 2618 aluminium alloy, Vertex pistons are perfectly suited to handle the rigors and high pressures of todays modern 4-stroke engines. To aid in the break-in process, and reduce wear, Vertex pistons utilizes a unique Molybdenum Disulphide (MOS2) coating on the piston skirt.
What really sets Vertex pistons apart from the competition are the unique piston profiles and compression ratios that are offered in A, B, C and D sizes. This variation in the sizing, a mere 0.004”, allows the piston to be perfectly sized to the cylinder for maximizing power and performance while reducing blow-by oil consumption.
