It’s been a whirlwind of a year for us here at Brown’s Automotive Inc.We’ve taken immense pleasure in providing even more services since the opening of our third location in Rio Rancho, and the great progress we’ve seen with the business this year has been inspiring. But for me, life has been extra grand since finally marrying Lily in September. As we head into the holiday season, I can’t help but think about how these fantastic new circumstances give me the opportunity to reflect on what’s really important in life. Working in a family business, it’s easy to say that family has always played an important role in my life. But now that I’ve tied the knot, it’s official: Lily is also my family. It could be the influx of work in our shops or it could be our first holiday season as husband and wife, but lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about the importance of a healthy work-life balance. Everyone here at Brown’s Automotive Inc. absolutely loves the work they do.We get to help our great customers and work with a team we love. It’s easy to spend long hours in the shop and let the day slip away, and a big part of the joy in working is knowing that doing so provides for our families at home. But the truth is that if you let your work overtake you, then you risk the very reason you’re working in the first place: your family. This new role I’ve taken on as husband has made me realize just how important family will always be. “Even if it’s the hundredth time you’ve heard the same story, listen like it’s the first time. Appreciate your family member’s excitement about sharing their life with you, and take the time to share a piece of your life with them.” Be There for Your Family And They’ll Be There for You This holiday season, whether you’re traveling to see family for Thanksgiving, Christmas, or the days in between, just remember to make yourself
present. Even if it’s the hundredth time you’ve heard the same story, listen like it’s the first time. Appreciate your family member’s excitement about sharing their life with you, and take the time to share a piece of your life with them. It’s all about the give and take; family is a collective word. Whether you see them once a year for the holidays or every day like I do at work, show them how important they are to you by simply being there for them. It’s like my grandma always tells me:“They don’t remember how long you stayed, just that you were there.” Although I’ve had the fortune of being around a lot of family for my entire life, I’m now beginning to understand what it truly means to just show up, whether it’s for my family during the holidays, for my wife at home, or for the job I do every day. As you prepare to show up for your own families this holiday season, don’t forget to keep up your regular car maintenance before you take any long road trips, especially as winter weather hits the roads. Make sure to get your tires and oil checked, and if it’s been a while, do a full workup of your engine so you can guarantee you and your family make it safely to all the loved ones waiting to welcome you. THE ORIGINS OF GINGERBREAD Ginger was first cultivated in ancient China, then traded into medieval Europe.There, Europeans incorporated it into culinary traditions and used it to bake cookies into elaborate shapes and works of art, including figures of animals and people. trauma center.To construct the house, builders created a recipe that required 1,800 pounds of butter, 2,925 pounds of brown sugar, 7,200 eggs, 7,200 pounds of flour, 1,080 ounces of ground ginger, and a few additional ingredients. It’s an unusual tale, but the strange elements are what make the story worthwhile. ‘A RUGRATS CHANUKAH’ Praised by critics and audiences alike,“A Rugrats Chanukah” covers the story of Chanukah through the eyes of Nickelodeon’s beloved animated babies. In addition to putting a “Rugrats” spin on the Chanukah story, this special episode also features themes of family and forgiveness.“A Rugrats Chanukah” is a delightful experience for audiences who celebrate Chanukah and those who would like to learn more about the holiday. ‘DOCTORWHO:A CHRISTMAS CAROL’ Here’s one for your nerdy family members. In this episode of the British sci-fi classic, the titular Doctor, an alien who travels through time and space, must save his friends by teaching a bitter old man the true meaning of Christmas.Time travel shenanigans ensue as the Doctor reminds us of the importance of kindness, the value of loss, and the magic of spending the holidays with those we love.This special puts a unique spin on the Christmas Carol formula and is even accessible to audiences who have never seen “Doctor Who” before.
• 1 head garlic, cut in half crosswise
• 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted • 1 large yellow onion, thickly sliced • 4 carrots, peeled and cut into 2-inch pieces • Olive oil
DIRECTIONS
1. Heat oven to 425 F. 2. Rinse chicken inside and out, removing giblets if included. Move to a work surface, pat dry, and liberally season with salt and pepper. Stuff cavity with thyme bunch, lemon halves, and garlic head. Brush outside with butter, and then season again.Tie chicken legs together with kitchen string. 3. Meanwhile, in a roasting pan, toss onions and carrots in olive oil and season with salt, pepper, and 20 sprigs of thyme. 4. Place the chicken on the vegetables and roast for 1 1/2 hours. 5. Remove from oven, and let stand for 20 minutes covered with foil. 6. Slice and serve with the vegetables. Inspired by Ina Garten

Ralphie’s parents certainly experience their fair share of disaster in hilarious fashion when the Bumpus Hounds destroy their holiday turkey and leave nothing but the heavenly aroma. But, when Ralphie’s father takes them out to eat at a local Chinese restaurant, it creates a whole new Christmas tradition for the Parker family.
