[406] Cash Conversations with MSU Federal Credit Union 50 Participants Learn about money and play games that focus on saving, spending and sharing money. You’ll have the opportunity to work together with your family member(s) to practice ways to manage money, discuss future plans and have fun!

[400] Are You the Next Olympic Athlete? Measuring Movement in Health and Disease 14 Participants Learn about the technology used to analyze human movement and how it can be used to assess motor skills both in health and disease.

[401] Basic Cake Decorating 12 Participants

Work with your hands and experience the fun of creative reuse! Upcycle wood sourced from disassembled pallets and make a unique craft to take home. Why pallets? The MSU Surplus Store & Recycling Center collects thousands of pounds of pallets that arrive at MSU carrying supplies and equipment necessary for campus operations. Join us to repurpose some of the wood! [408] Crafting Around The World 20 Participants Discover cultures and crafts as we create crafts. [409] Creating, Prototyping and Innovating 30 Participants Prototyping is a user-experience design practice where quick sketches, drawings and “wireframes” are developed for an idea, app or product. In this session, we’ll talk about why designers prototype and more importantly, we’ll do some brainstorming and prototyping together to create a new, interactive app: an ice-cream finder! [410] Disney Trivia 20 Participants In this fun Jeopardy style trivia game, play games like “name that tune” with family teams!

Learn basic cake decorating skills and some fun ideas for specialty cakes, cupcakes and cookies.

[402] Be an Ancestry Detective 40 Participants In this class, we will generate a family tree together using a free version of Ancestry.com and learn how to use free online tools available through your local library. Attendees will learn tips for family tree research, including how to conduct family interviews and record multi-generational family traditions and memories. [403] Beef Cattle Awesomeness: A Crash Course in Modern Beef Production 24 Participants Get an insider’s look at the MSU Beef Center cow/ calf and feedlot units, while learning about the management of a modern beef cattle operation. Learn why beef cattle farmers need to be concerned with forage production, growth and development, genetics, breeding, nutrition, health, beef quality and so much more. See why cows are so cool — and why modern beef cattle production is both an art and a science. Walking required. [404] Bumps and Bruises — Household First Aid 30 Participants Learn about first-aid for common household injuries from senior paramedic instructors. [405] Cake Pops, Chocolate and Sprinkles Oh My! 25 Participants Learn how to make cake pops — from mixing, to dipping, to decorating.

[412] Eggstravaganza 16 Participants

Learn how eggs are graded and how to determine interior and exterior quality. Enjoy demonstrations and hands-on testing to see how eggs alter the foods we make with them. Learn about egg packaging, including what all the labels and stamps mean. [413] Explore Static Electricity with WKAR’s Curious Crew 50 Participants Staticized balloons and Van de Graff fun! Even build an electroscope to explore a “shocking” lesson on static electricity with WKAR’s Curious Crew.
