[244] Yoga for EveryBODY 26 Participants

Yoga for EveryBODY is a mix of yoga, breathing exercise and pairs yoga. A great way to connect, loosen up and have fun. This class will be interactive and awesome!

[300] 14 Billion Years of Nuclei 24 Participants

[245] Zeke the Wonderdog 60 Participants

Learn how the elements have been formed over the entire history of the universe, what we still don’t know, and how MSU’s Facility for Rare Isotope Beams will help reveal the origins of heavy nuclei! [301] American or Canadian? The Culture and Charm of Canada 30 Participants View images, videoclips, historical facts, music and food of Canada and invite participants to compete in a quiz challenge on knowledge of Canada. Savor Canadian treats and learn new and interesting facts about Canada. This session is being presented in honor of the 65th anniversary of the MSU Canadian Studies Center!

Zeke the Wonderdog and friends will be putting on a fun event with group participation. Learn how to teach a trick — maybe even to Zeke! [246] Lights! Camera! Action! 14 Participants Make a short television show using multicam production techniques!

[247] Composting with Worms 20 Participants

Who will compost? Worms will! Learn how to compost food waste generated at home using the power of worms. Participants of this class will have the opportunity to build and take home a bin containing live worms! [248] Learning to Love Writing and Words 50 Participants View onscreen the steps in making the award- winning children’s book, “Mr. Mouthful Learns His Lesson.” We’ll review the choices a writer must make — and the book itself. Then we’ll also explore words, wordplay and important features of language. All children who attend will receive a free copy of the book. [249] Korean Language and Culture Jam 20 Participants Join us on a language and culture experience through the country of South Korea. Learn important Korean phrases, fun games, crafts and information about a popular Korean dish you can easily make at home!

[302] Animal Disease Detectives 50 Participants

Animals can’t tell you when they’re sick or point to where it hurts. Learn how veterinarians and laboratory technologists help to diagnose disease and protect both animal and human health. Participants will investigate and diagnose cases on their own. This is a two-hour class.

[303] Balloon Twisting 20 Participants

Learn a skill that you can have for a lifetime — twisting balloon animals. Balloons are made of latex, so this session is not recommended if you are allergic to latex. [304] Build an Exhibit, Build a Science Center 30 Participants Build STEM exhibits using easily available materials. Help build an entire science center where you can see an exhibit, touch it, play with it, experiment with it, break it (accidentally), repair it, rebuild it, improvise it, make a copy and take it home. [305] Building Your Dream Community 40 Participants Take part in an activity and review how the availability of resources impacts communities. We’ll build our own communities with the materials or “resources” available and communities will be compared and discussed.
