EPIC Centre The EPIC Centre in Torbay is located in a vibrant microelectronics cluster. It hosts some of the UK’s most innovative photonics companies. The centre offers businesses access to a classified cleanroom and >£2.5M worth of prototyping capability including die and wire bonding, photonics packaging, fibre alignment, microscopy and analysis. For just £1.2k per month, businesses can select either a 50m2 office or lab, access this equipment and can collaborate with photonics packaging specialists. There are frequently regional funding opportunities available to take space within the EPIC centre in addition to rent-free periods. The centre therefore offers an attractive proposition for businesses that are looking to grow, develop new products and join a ready-made supply chain within a rich photonics cluster. Hamamatsu Photonics Hamamatsu Photonics are a world-leading manufacturer of optoelectronic components and systems. The Company’s corporate philosophy stresses the advancement of society through the use of photonics, and looks to achieve this via extensive research, which yields products that are regarded as state-of-the-art. Our products provide the ability to work within the entire optical spectrum and provide solutions for a wide variety of applications including analytical, consumer, industrial and medical instrumentation. Hamamatsu offers high-speed response photodetectors for use in transceivers in optical communication networks. In addition to photodiodes alone, we have a lineup of photodetectors with preamplifiers, receptacle-type and pigtail-type

photodetectors, and can provide custom products to meet customer requirements.

Passcomm Passcomm provides a range of high performance fibre optic components. We are the UK & Ireland partner for DIAMOND SA, the manufacturer of fibre optic connectors and interconnects. Diamond invented their Active Core Alignment process to produce low loss/high return loss connectors. These high performance connections are ideal for applications with small signal levels as often found in the quantum world this to preserve signal-to-noise ratios. They are available at a range of wavelengths from UV to IR using most fibre types. For requirements needing polarisation maintaining or polarising connectors, DIAMOND offer the PM and PM+ connectors with up to 30dB PER. Small form factor connectors with high mechanical stability suitable for demanding environments at high and low temperatures, including space qualified connectors are offered. DIAMOND have a library of multi-fibre ferrule designs and the capability to offer customised solutions.

Santec Fibre optic test & measurement specialist for DWDM, silicon photonics, patch cords & cable assemblies. Santec's swept-wavelength tunable laser portfolio has been extended with optical power meters, return loss meters & optical switches from JGR Optics & Optotest. DWDM passive components include tapped photo- detectors, variable attenuators, tunable filters & high channel count power monitoring products for data centres. SET Corporation SET, Smart Equipment Technology, is a world leading supplier of High Accuracy Flip-Chip Bonders and versatile Nanoimprint Lithography (NIL) solutions. Since 1975, we have been designing and manufacturing semiconductor equipment dedicated to high precision applications. We accompany laboratories and industries of semiconductor, which look for a high precision and an important reliability in the assembly of their components in their projects. With Flip-Chip Bonders installed worldwide, SET is globally renowned for the unsurpassed sub-micron accuracy and the flexibility of its equipment. Ranging from manual loading to fully automated version, our Flip-Chip Bonders cover a wide range of bonding applications and offer the Vanguard Automation Vanguard Automation combines a decade of research in integrated photonics with 20 years of experience in building high-precision assembly machinery to propel photonic integration and packaging. Headquartered in Karlsruhe, Germany, Vanguard Automation develops process technology and machines for creating low- loss photonic connections between passive and active optical components leveraging its unique IP portfolio for Photonic Wire Bonding and facet-attached micro-optics. Augmenting nano-print technology, Vanguard Automation’s solutions enable high packaging density, increased design flexibility, and fabrication throughput. With the exponential rise of PICs, Vanguard Automation serves a growing global customer base helping to
