Screw must go also; you have to turn him around and around, again and again, to get him anywhere.” Brother Screw then said, “If you wish, I w ill go but Brother Plane must leave also; all his work is on the sur face; there is no depth to it.” To this Brother Plane replied, “Well, Brother Rule w ill have to withdraw if l do, for he is always measuring other folks as though he were the only one who is right.” Brother Rule th e n c om p la in e d against Brother Sandpaper and said, “l just don’t care, he is rougher than he ought to be and he is always rubbing people the wrong w ay” In the midst of the discussion, the Carpenter of Nazareth walked in. He had come to perform His clay’s work. He put on His apron, and went to the bench, employing the hammer, the drill, the screw, the rule, the sandpaper and all the other tools. After the ¿Lay’s work was over Brother Saw arose and said, “Brethren, l perceive that all of us are laborers together with God.” How many Christians are like those tools, always fussing at one another. There wasn’t an accusation against any of these tools that wasn’t absolute ly true. Yet the Carpenter needed everyone of them. Let us be careful not to find fault with God’s tools or instruments, but rather make sure that we are inour rightplace and simply held in His hand forservice. LAYMEN'S BEATITUDES 1.
