P A R A B U 8 * « i P W U I W ill Guide Thee t He guided by paths that I could not see, By ways that I have not known; The crooked was straight and the rough made plain, As I followed the Lord alone. He was better to me than all my prayers, He was better to me than all my fears; He made a bridge of my broken hopes, And a rainbow of my tears. He emptied my hands of my treasured store, "Away with work that hinders prayer. 'Twere best to lay it down; For prayerless work, however good. Will fail to win the crown." The Daily Touch i t was Spurgeon who once said: “ Salvation begins in heaven and ends in the kitchen.” By this he simply meant to say that this matter of being a Christian is a very down-to-earth affair. It isn’t something we put on when the Lord’s Day comes around, and which we discard on Monday morning. It must be a daily pro

ject. “ Exhort one another daily” (Heb. 3:13); “ I die daily” (1 Cor. 15:31); “ Take up his cross daily” (Luke 9:23); “ These searched the scriptures daily” (Acts 17:11); “ Give us this day our daily bread” (Matt. 6:11); “ The inward man is renewed day by day” (2 Cor. 4: 16); and the Lord said, “And I myself will surely be with you all the days, down to the very close of the age” (Matt. 28:20, W il liams) . The manna of the Old Testament had to be a “daily” thing. If kept over it grew rancid, except on the Sabbath. Let us not neglect the “ daily touch.” — C. Victor Nyquist

And His “ Covenant love” revealed; There is not a wound in my aching heart But the balm of His breath has healed. Oh, tender and true was the chasten ing sore, In wisdom that taught and tried, Till the soul that He sought was trusting in Him, And nothing on earth beside. —Adelaide Proctor SHELTON COLLEGE PURCHASES 1187 ACRE COUNTRY ESTATE In June, Shelton College will move to their new campus —an 1187 acre estate located in the Ramapo Mountains, one hour’s drive from .New York City. IN AN ALIEN WORLD the priest who — disillu- 1 sioned and spiritually dissatisfied — dares to leave the Roman Catholic Church finds himself suddenly alone in an alien world. He faces excommunication, * ostracism by family and friends, unemployment, insecurity — and the pitiless enmity of Rome. ^ Christ's Mission has helped hun« dreds of such priests to find salvation ¡¡¡I — and a new way of life. We also m help Roman Catholics and Protestants through literature, correspondence, personal contact and THE CON- ^ VERTED CATHOLIC MAGAZINE.
