The Australian, with its Saturday edition The Weekend Australian, is a broadsheet newspaper published by News Corp Australia since 14 July 1964. As the only Australian daily newspaper distributed nationally, its readership as of September 2019 of both print and online editions was 2,394,000.

Jared Lynch Technology Editor The Australian

Jared Lynch is a business reporter with a career spanning 15 years across national publications. Jared is based in Melbourne and writes on technology, cyber security, agribusiness, healthcare and gaming. He also has extensive experience in markets, media, regulation and police reporting. Status 06 October: David Swan originally confirmed for our event representing The Australian, however on 05 October David advised he would be moving to The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald . David has proposed Jared as a replacement, we are awaiting Jared ’ s response.

David Swan Freelance Technology Journalist (Starting new position as the tech editor at The Age and Sydney Morning Herald in late October) David is one of Australia's leading technology reporters and editors. Previously David was the technology editor for Australia's national broadsheet newspaper The Australian, chief technology reporter at independent IT news website iTWire, and at News Corp publication Technology Spectator. David is regularly the journalist who publishes the breaking technology stories first and is regularly sought for commentary on what's happening in tech both home and abroad.

Appearing regularly as a tech expert on Sky News, Channel Ten's The Project, and on radio.

David was awarded Australia's best technology industry journalist in 2017 and 2018 at the ACS IT Journalism awards, and was highly commended in 2018 at the Quill awards for best business feature writing.

Status 06 October: David originally confirmed when he was technology editor for The Australian however, he informed us on the 05 October that he will be joining The Syndey Morning Herald and The Age at the end of October. He has connected us with Jared Lynch who has taken over his position at The Australian. We have gone back to David and invited him to attend while he is between publications, and are awaiting a response.
