Q . Kansas City, Mo. — “The Bible says Bernice was the sister o f Agrippa before whom Paul spoke. Was she also Agrippa’s w ife?” A. The best answer is to be found on page 1184 of the Scofield Refer ence Notes. Acts 2 5 :13 indicates that she was the sister of Herod Agrippa II. Q . San Jose, Calif. — “I am confused by Paul’s statement in Galatians 6:17 where he writes ‘from hence forth let no man trouble m e: fo r I bear in my body the marks o f the Lord J e s u s ’ What did Paul mean by this?” A. Paul meant that he did not want it to be necessary to vindicate his apostolic authority. His physical af flictions gave ample proof of that fact. These afflictions are mentioned in II Corinthians 11:24-28. I f there was anyone who ever suffered for Jesus’ sake, it was Paul. Yet he was grateful for the fact that he was considered worthy for such an hon or which most people would shun. The reason for his attitude was be cause of the Judaizers who went up into the Galatian country to degrade his position and authority. Q . Fresno, Calif. — “What did Jesus mean when He said that all the blood
shed from Abel to the time He was on earth would be required o f that generation?” (Luke 11:19-51) A. There were those living in the time of Jesus Christ, even as today, whose religion was the same as that of Cain. The Saviour told them that they were as guilty as the earth’s first murderer. An illustration in the political realm would be that while we were not living during the time of the American Revolution, yet we are privileged to enter into the bene fits and blessings acomplished in that period. We identify ourselves with those brave men by holding their views. So Christ points out that by opposing Him, these people were the same as those who slew Abel, and other martyrs down through the cen turies. Those in the Saviour’s era cried, “Away with Him, away with Him! His blood be upon us and upon our children.” Q . Providence, R.l. — “Please tell me how I may know that I am in the will o f God. I worry constantly fo r fe a r 1 may not be in His will.” A. It is much easier to advise some one else as to his being in the will of the Lord than it is to know this fact for your own life. One thing that we should not do is to worry constantly about it. This is what 26
