Every day, people in northern Michigan and beyond invite Interlochen Public Radio into their homes, cars, or offices. We are honored to be an important part of daily life for anyone who values news, music, and culture. Interlochen Public Radio has defied national trends by maintaining and enhancing the quality that IPR listeners expect. At a time when local journalism is in decline around the country, IPR News remains a vital source of local information that has earned national recognition. This year, IPR reporters were recognized with five Edward R. Murrow Awards and four awards from the Public Media Journalists Association. The high-quality reporting at IPR not only connects listeners to the world, it connects them to their own communities, empowering them to be more informed about and involved in the issues that affect their families, friends, and neighbors. IPR Music extends our mission to educate and inspire by connecting our listeners with classical music, curated by knowledgeable and insightful IPR staff. Through programs like Kids Commute and Gameplay , we’re also inspiring and welcoming new generations to enjoy classical music. Last year, more than 4,000 people expressed their appreciation for IPR’s work by making a gift to support their continued efforts. These gifts allow IPR to continue the work of keeping our communities informed and inspired.
