2023 PRESIDENT’S AWARD IN ART Two Academy student artists were selected by President Devey for the President’s Award in Visual Art: Zichen Wang (IAA 18-20, 21-23) and Yifei Chen (IAA 19-23, IAC 20). President Devey selects one or more students each year based on the body of work they have produced, their senior thesis presentation of their work, and their Interlochen community citizenship during their time on campus.

Cotton Candy Cloud The work of Zichen Wang often juxtaposes traditional Chinese calligraphy with non traditional materials like litter, ice, and cotton candy. This merging of traditional and new materials represents the growth we feel when we move or travel to new locations or cultures.

The division total equaled 3,284 rather than 3,230 because 54 students enrolled in multiple sessions in different arts areas.
