Interview with Costas Koumis, Minister of Tourism of Cyprus. Jean-Emmanuel Hay : Mr. the Minister of Tourism, Cyprus has changed a lot in the last ten years. What does the destination offer in terms of high-end tourism that other European destinations don't have? Costas Koumis : The developments of the last decade aim at upgrading our tourism product and attract more high-end visitors. It is worth mentioning that several projects all over Cyprus have been completed or are under construction. For example, a new marina has been created in Limassol and recently the luxury marina of Ayia Napa has been comple- ted. A brand-new marina is now being constructed at the popular tourism resort of Protaras, the works of which are at an advan- ced stage. Upgrading works will shortly com- mence at Larnaka Marina and the procedures for the creation of a marina in Pafos are also expected to start soon. Moreover, the City of Dreams Mediterranean – Integrated Resort, Casino and Entertainment, is the first integrated resort of its kind in Europe. Shopping malls also operate in all cities, and tourism infrastructure – hotels, restaurants, theme parks – is continuously being upgraded. In addition to these developments, I would say
