Interlochen Center for the Arts 2022 Annual Report

ENRICHING OTHERS’ LIVES THROUGH THE ANNUAL FUND

“Giving to the Interlochen Annual Fund is in line with our life philosophy. We believe money shouldn’t be an obstacle to recognizing a child’s talent. Interlochen has played a big role in shaping who we are as a family, and as individuals. We’ve gotten a meaningful return from our time there; when you have the opportunity to share some of that return, it becomes a very easy decision.”

Bryan Proctor first experienced life between the lakes as a camper in 1988. Interlochen Camp and Academy provided his first post-college jobs, with Bryan’s soon to be wife, Aimee Walters, making regular trips to Interlochen to spend time in this place that meant so much to him. Decades later, all three of the couple’s children have had their own Camp experiences, including their son Gabriel who felt so connected that he asked to enroll at the Academy. Now in his second year as a sophomore studying jazz performance in saxophone, Bryan and Aimee are thrilled with the education Gabriel is receiving in both art and academics. They see Interlochen as a place where he can explore, be true to himself, and where his life will be forever enriched by the diverse learning environment. Bryan and Aimee give to the Annual Fund at the President’s Club level because of their profound respect for Interlochen’s commitment to recognizing talent and doing everything possible to ensure that gifted students have an opportunity to attend.
