LOVE OF PUBLIC RADIO AND DOGS LEADS TO IPR SUPPORT
“...I can give to something important,
Carol McAnulty experienced two transformational summers at Interlochen before earning two degrees in clarinet performance. Years later, she returned as a Camp staff member just as she was beginning what would be her 20-year career as a clarinetist with the United States Air Force Band. Carol traveled the world with her music, which brought her back to Interlochen several times in the 1980s and ‘90s for Air Force Band engagements, some of which featured her solos. Carol is now retired from professional music, but is busy with her other vocation: sharing the healing power of therapy dogs with her community. Carol and her dog, Denny, work hard at the Darcy Library in Beulah, named for Carol’s first therapy dog. A Producer’s Circle donor to IPR, Carol appreciates having access to classical music and thoughtful news 24 hours a day. Carol combined her passion for dogs and public radio to inspire more listeners to support IPR during the fall 2021 pledge drive. Her dog Denny issued the “Dogs vs. Cats Challenge,” matching gifts of support dollar for dollar with each donor receiving one vote: dogs or cats. There was an added bonus from Denny if dogs won—which they did!
to something that is going to help other people— that feels good.”
