THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES AND OFFICERS
My daughter Alycia (IAC 02-04, IAA 04-06) and I arrived at Interlochen for the first time 20 years ago. From the moment I stepped onto campus, I knew I was somewhere truly special. Over the last two decades, I’ve come to appreciate Interlochen more deeply than I thought possible. Over its 94-year history, Interlochen has weathered the Great Depression, a world war, a pandemic, and countless other political and social events. Interlochen has not only survived, but thrived. And it did so because it never lost sight of its true purpose. And it never stopped innovating. It never forgot it was meant to connect people across national and cultural boundaries, across life experiences, and across generations—through the arts. In my years as a trustee, I’ve seen enormous growth at Interlochen. From the completion of an ambitious 30-year effort to build extraordinary facilities unrivaled by most universities to the triumph of the Create Amazing campaign to our inspirational recovery from the global pandemic, Interlochen has risen—thanks to the expertise and extraordinary commitment of Interlochen’s faculty, staff, volunteers, and supporters. Now, we look forward to Interlochen’s 100th year in 2028, and we are eager to keep innovating. We are committed to facilitating an unprecedented investment in our people and programs that secures Interlochen’s place as the destination for young artists—the place where they turn their passion and potential into purpose.
Here’s to another century dedicated to nurturing young artists and changing the world!
Sincerely,
Honorable Kurtis T. Wilder Chair, Interlochen Board of Trustees
