NORTH BAY COMPANIES

500 biggest companies lay a strong foundation in the North Bay

W illiam Shakespeare once wrote: “To business that we love we rise [early] and go to ‘t with delight.” Granted, Shakespeare’s business was crafting action-packed story plots, coining puns and witticisms and dressing in women’s clothes (male actors of the 16th century played the parts of women on stage), so comparisons to owning or being employed at a local business in 2025 North Bay can only go so far. Still, enjoying one’s daily toil, whatever it may be, is always preferred, and no doubt leads to better outcomes—career satisfaction, happier work/life balance and maybe even improved financial success. Back to Shakespeare. While he may have loved his work running the Globe Theatre—which, by most accounts, rendered him an above-average earner back in the day—it almost certainly didn’t bring in enough revenue to land the troupe on any lists of Ye Olde Top 500 Londoners, which would have been reserved for various landed gentry and other lords, noblemen and people dressed in doublets, petticoats and what not. And even those Fauntleroys wouldn’t have had a look in at anything like the NorthBay biz Top 500 list, which requires a company earn annual revenues north of $2 million to get a mention. That said, an appearance on our annual list of the top revenue- generating companies in the North Bay is no easy feat, especially in these days of economic volatility, market unease and rising consumer caution. However, the following listees share a few

traits: Longevity, stability, product in demand (of course!) and a willingness to innovate through years of shifting consumer habits and changing technologies. The year marks our 35th Top 500 list highlighting the highest revenue generators among the thousands of licensed businesses operating in the North Bay. For the past few months, we’ve conducted multiple rounds of email outreach to companies for updated data and revenue information. When information isn’t supplied directly, we estimate based on digital research, comparative industry economic trends, and revenue data from past Top 500 lists. If a company is headquartered in the North Bay, we count all its revenues. If a company does business here but is headquartered elsewhere, we gauge only its North Bay numbers. Changes to company leadership also happen regularly and, for those who don’t notify us of a shift at the top, we’ll research that as best we can. And, as in past years, if a company notices our revenue estimates are off, we encourage them to reach out to us with verified numbers; we’ll make corrections to future lists. We hope you enjoy perusing the Top 500 and find it interesting, informative and useful as a business operator or just a member of the North Bay community.
