BUSINESS & TECH | NALL This month several classes have had community members come in to speak about financial institutions, money management, and their experience owning a business. Students have been engaged and asking great questions as they absorb life skills from professionals. Along those lines, students have also been introduced to monopoly where they will use their monopoly transactions to create financial statements. PERFORMING ARTS | HOMAN K-3 learned Mexican & Russian Folk Dances. The 7-12th band is preparing to play Pep Band at the last home basketball game of the season. The 5th & 6th bands are starting to work on spring concert music. On February 26, the 7-12 Band and the 4-6 Drama classes will be attending the Elgin Opera House production of Beetlejuice Jr. LANGUAGE ARTS Students are reading “Kids on Strike,” “The Breaker Boys,” and “The Cold Millions” in conjunction with Fishtrap’s The Big Read. On February 5th, juniors and seniors will have the opportunity to meet Jess Walter, the author of “The Cold Millions” at Fishtrap for a brief reading and question/answer session.
PARENT OPPORTUNITIES
If you would like to help out at the school in some capacity, please reach out to your child’s teacher for various opportunities. We are currently looking for support in supervising the cafeteria, cleaning tables, and gen- eral support at lunchtime.
