We are incredibly excited to present to you our first “May 1” born calf crop! As we had hoped, the late spring calving model - calving out on grass for the 2nd year, has been a joy, to the say the least. Our overall calf health and viability is drastically improved and they can go directly from calving pastures to summer grass. The sale bulls and bred heifers were turned out on grass for the summer, which we feel is really a crucial part of their development. They were brought back closer to home mid-August so we could start them on a TMR and eventually start all the sale preparations. We hope you are impressed with the overall quality and depth of the offering. The bulls are hardened, rugged, and ready for heavy usage. The females provide a wide selection for even the most discriminating eye, there are donor caliber females and front pasture cows throughout. We hope that you find what you are looking for! There sure is a majority of them that we’d be happy to have kept, but we want to sell a set of breeding pieces that offer much to the genetic base of any operation. Our vision and commitment to Simmental cattle has never wavered. We are always striving to improve upon the tremendous foundation we’ve been blessed to work with. We believe at the very basics, building upon the strongest cow families is of utmost importance, and we are thankful to have been able to incorporate some of the very best there is! We love Simmental cattle and believe they offer the beef industry a whole lot of versatility and most of all PERFORMANCE!! Our family is well; the kids are growing like crazy and bring joy and laughs to our everyday life. We are thankful to get to raise them in this ranching lifestyle and all the foundational life lessons it presents. The cows are our passion and livelihood but yet at the end of the day, the little people that we are shaping and raising are our highest priority. We hope that you can relate. Brock continues to be my right hand man and pours just as much heart and soul into the Simmental cattle as I do on a daily basis. He has developed a really good eye and you’ll enjoy visiting with him about the offering. However, he does not enjoy fielding any questions related to quarter horses or corgis……it’s probably best to continue to direct any of those questions to me!!! Dillon and Esrie Hurndall and Faith Shirek have all come aboard the crazy LCDR train this past summer and have been quickly learning the ropes. They all offer their unique talents to our operation and we are grateful for the long hours that they dedicate to our ranch! As in the past, the sale format will be a video auction and broadcasted online through DVAuction. We have bid on and bought many bulls and females through DV and highly recommend utilizing this bidding method if you are unable to attend sale day. We also invite each of you to visit the ranch ahead of the sale to sort through the bulls and females, see dams, and visit one-on-one about the specific needs of your program when making bull or female selections. We offer a $100 discount to be used towards a bull purchase if you visit the ranch between October 24th and November 14th.
