HERITAGE SOCIETY’S Impact Shines Forever
LIFE-CHANGING EXPERIENCES Arts Camp alumnus Bob Scholten is as engaged with Interlochen today as he was when he spent three pivotal summers studying trombone and continued when, ten years later, he returned to serve as summer camp staff. Through the intervening years, Bob cherished his camp memories of his time between the lakes, his love of music, and the life-long relationships that started at Interlochen. Now retired, Bob is excited to re-engage with the place that has meant so much to him and his family. He wanted to ensure future generations of young people have similar life-changing experiences. This year, Bob joined the Heritage Society by making a provision for Interlochen in his estate to fund the Robert Scholten Endowed Camp Scholarship. To appreciate the impact of this gift during his lifetime, Bob decided to make annual contributions to begin funding the scholarship today. Generations of young artists will have their lives touched by his legacy.
Interlochen believes in the power of young people to change the world. From our earliest days, Interlochen has provided life-shaping experiences to the next generation. Nowhere does this focus on the future shine brighter than through the members of the Interlochen Heritage Society. The Heritage Society honors those generous individuals who have chosen to remember Interlochen in their estate plans. Whether through wills, charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder unitrusts, lead trusts, gifts of insurance, retirement plans, or other arrangements, Heritage Society members make provisions today that will provide
opportunities for the creative change-makers of tomorrow.
“Providing for Interlochen is the best investment I’ve ever made.” — Bob Scholten
