Interlochen Center for the Arts 2020 Annual Report

VOLUNTEERS INSPIRE Campus Community

There are endless ways to spend a week, a day, an hour. In our hectic world, there are often far more options than there are free moments. We are honored by the 508 dedicated individuals who chose to spend some of their valuable time volunteering for Interlochen this year. Through planting flowers, giving campus tours, taking pledges at Interlochen Public Radio, crafting ballet costumes, and ushering patrons to performances at Corson, our volunteers’ generous donation of time and talent illustrates their commitment to our community. Interlochen supports inspired lives, and everyone has an important role to play.

VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR: TED BEIDERWIEDEN For a impressive third consecutive year, Ted Beiderwieden was named Volunteer of the Year with the highest number of volunteer hours on campus. “When you are 83 and still get up each day to go to work, you must love where you work and what you do. That describes my relationship with Interlochen Center for the Arts. Retirement gives me significantly more time to serve this place that fascinates me—for its location, its purposes, what it offers the community, and how it develops arts careers in the lives of young people.” — Ted Beiderwieden
