Irwin M&E kicks off Charity Football Tournament in aid of Autism NI

Leading Mechanical and Electrical contractor Irwin M&E chose a fitting date, the International Day of Charity, to hold their Charity Football Tournament in aid of Autism NI. On 8 September, the event promoted a series of games among the teams from Hays, Dawson Manufacturing & Engineering, Edmundson Electrical, Walter S. Mercer (Portadown), PAC Group, KCC Group, Galaxy Facilities Management, Gilbert Ash, City Electrical Factors, and the big winners of the day: Rexel UK!

Held at the Loughgall FC pitch, the tournament raised over £1300 for Autism NI, the Province’s longest-serving autism charity and training provider, which works to provide life-changing services for over 35,000 autistic people and their families throughout Northern Ireland. Wink Lighting is hosting online CPD seminars on using artificial lighting in architecture on 11 October and 8 November. Entitled “The use of artificial lighting for architectural spaces”, the CPD session is accredited by the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI). Presented by Rocky Wall, MD Wink Lighting, the seminar aims to provide a basic understanding of lighting principles, terms, light output, and colour to reveal the importance of lighting design and ensure that lighting becomes an integrated part of the building’s architecture. The session offers information on the different qualities of light, and their ability to enhance our wellbeing, and on how to select the correct light source for a specific task. Wink also explores the development and pros and cons of LED technologies, light sources and their control and how to use them to improve buildings’ efficiency.
