LICENCE TO PRACTISE

THE ONLINE SYSTEM HELPS ELECTRICAL CONTRACTORS MEET THEIR LICENCE TO PRACTISE REQUIREMENTS FREE OF CHARGE… ECS Check passes 2,500 registrations

E CS Check, the simple online system that allows clients and contractors to gain essential visibility on the workforce in their supply chain, has now passed 2,500 registrations across the UK. The system continues to help electrical contractors meet their Licence to Practise requirements in NI free of charge, with organisations such as the Northern Ireland Housing Executive, Translink, NI Water and Belfast and Western Health and Social Care Trust benefitting from the system’s simplicity. As well as allowing main contractors and clients to verify the ECS status of on-site electrotechnical personnel, ECS Check’s online portal enables users to produce electronic summaries for auditing and reporting. Free to access, the service provides information on the entire supply

chain workforce, instantly displaying details of qualified electricians, apprentices and other electrical workers. An ECS Check App is available and enables real-time, on-site auditing. Roy Connolly, Managing Director of B.I. Electrical Services (NI) Ltd, part of the Greenview group, explained the benefits ECS Check has brought to his organisation, “The launch of ECS Check as a Licence to Practise has provided a clear and straightforward system for meeting the LtP requirements and demonstrating to clients the qualifications, knowledge and high standard met by our electrical operatives. This real-time access to a digital database is a smarter way of working and gives recognition to our electricians who hold ECS cards to meet requirements for construction site access.

ECS Check is free to access and helps avoid unnecessary duplication of cost and is a great example of our work to drive innovation and safety through supply chains.” To find out more about ECS Check, visit www.ecscard.org.uk/ecscheck, email ecscheckni@ecscard.org.uk or call +44 01322 661 622.
