AEW’S WEEE CAMPAIGN AIMS TO ENCOURAGE THE ELECTRICAL INDUSTRY TO EMBRACE SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES AND RECOGNISE EXCELLENCE IN RECYCLING EFFORTS… AEW launches WEEE recycling campaign for 2023/24

T he Association of Electrical Wholesalers (AEW) has announced the launch of its WEEE recycling campaign for 2023/24. In collaboration with WEEE Ireland, AEW has revamped its promotional materials, incorporating in-store posters, trade press advertisements, website banners, social media posts and stickers. “We are launching a wide-ranging marketing and advertising campaign to spread the WEEE recycling message not only to our 150 electrical wholesale members but also to electrical contractors nationwide via the AECI, ECI and NECI,” said AEW Administrator Ken Legros. AEW is also actively engaging the next generation of electricians to make

WEEE recycling an integral part of their daily routines. Ken added, “We are working with the Education and Training Boards and technological universities to have our marketing materials displayed throughout each campus in Ireland. We also aim to include WEEE recycling in the syllabus for electrical apprentices.” Celebrating recycling success Following the success of their inaugural awards luncheon in May 2022, AEW will host its next awards luncheon in May 2024 at the Clayton Hotel, Liffey Valley, to celebrate the most accomplished WEEE recycling branches nationwide.
