Thankful Thoughts and Timeless Landscapes CULTIVATING GRATITUDE THIS SEASON
As the holidays approach and we gather with family and friends, November naturally invites us to pause and reflect on gratitude. In a world that often feels busy and hurried, slowing down to appreciate what we have (and with whom we share it) brings balance and meaning to our lives. At BLG Environmental Services, we believe landscapes are more than just outdoor spaces; they’re settings where life happens. A beautifully designed yard isn’t just about plants, lighting, or stonework; it’s about creating places where Thanksgiving dinners spill onto the patio, children play in the shade of trees, and conversations with neighbors linger just a little longer by the fire pit. These moments are why we do what we do. Gratitude in landscaping also reminds us to appreciate nature. The vibrant colors of fall, the cooler breezes, and even the slower pace of the season highlight the rhythms of the outdoors. Every tree we plant (and every flower bed we design) becomes part of a bigger story that connects people to the beauty of creation and one another. This time of year also encourages generosity. Just as we count our blessings, we look for ways to share them. Whether hosting friends, giving back to our communities, or supporting local businesses, gratitude naturally turns outward. Our work means going the extra mile to ensure clients feel cared for with high-quality design and installation, honest communication, careful planning, and attention to detail.
CHICKS DIG IT Ella Goes Elven
Hello! It’s Ella, back with another update. I hope everybody reading this is doing well and having fun.
Things with me have been pretty busy lately. I turned 10 not too long ago, and I’ve been studying hard at school. A few issues back, I told you about how I dressed up as Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis for a special report I gave in one of my classes. Well, I’ve since decided to go even further into acting! Last summer, I signed up for theater at school! The group I’ve joined will be doing a production of “Elf” (based on the movie of the same name). We rehearse on Sundays from 2–4 p.m., and Daddy drives me there and drops me off. Sometimes, we’ll stop at Starbucks and have some nice one-on- one time. He also had theater experience in school, but he worked behind the scenes and didn’t act on stage. Me? I’m excited to do it!
It’s a big commitment to give up time on the weekend to do theater, but I’m loving it! I’ve made new friends through the school theater, and it’s been so much fun doing something new.
You may be wondering which character in “Elf” I’ll be playing. Well, I’ve decided to be tight-lipped and keep it a surprise … no matter how many times Daddy asks me! He will probably share photos in this newsletter after the big onstage reveal in a few weeks. I can’t wait to be on stage and part of “Elf”! I think it’s important to try new things, and I’m glad I thought of doing theater. Who knows … maybe this will be the start of a big career in stage and screen. But for now, I’m just having fun and learning as much as possible about acting.
Wish me luck out there!
