Wrestling fans in Hawkesbury and the surrounding area will recognize the name of Rick Steiner. Next week they will have a chance to see one of the “kings of the ring” in action andmaybe get tomeet him in person for an autograph, when the bell rings for the Star Stampede at the Robert Hartley Arena. Steiner is one of the big-name headliners for the Great NorthWrestling extravaganza, on Nov. 5 at the arena. He is one half of the main event on the card as he steps

Maintenant que Cumberland s’est joint à nous, nous avons ajouté la catégorie A à nos équipes », a-t-elle ajouté. Au sein de l’Association de hockeymineur de Prescott-Russell Est, on retrouve ainsi chez les 4-6 ans, Initiation A et B; chez les 7-8 ans, le Novice A, B et C; chez les 9-10 ans, l’Atome A, B et C; du côté des 11-12 ans, le PeeWee A et B; dans la catégorie 13-14 ans, le BantamA et B; chez les 15-17 ans, leMid- get A et B. Si l’Initiation n’a pas changée par rapport à l’année dernière, nous avons ajouté les catégories Novice A, Atome A, Pee Wee A et Bantam A », a énuméré Sandra Miller. C’est donc un total de 19 équipes et près de 300 joueurs que l’on retrouve au sein de l’organisation, y compris 3 équipes Initiation. Et jusqu’à présent, nos équipes ont enregistré pas mal de bon résultats », a affirmé Sandra, en conclusion.
L’Association de hockey mineur de Pres- cott-Russell Est en est à sa deuxième année et, même si la transition est encore ardue et épuise complètement les responsables, le succès est au rendez-vous. Il faut savoir, d’entrée de jeu, que le hoc- keymineur de Hawkesbury a fusionné avec celui de Champlain et, pour les organisa- teurs, ce regroupement a demandé beau- coup d’effort et de travail. « L’année passée, nos équipes ont eu beaucoup de succès, a mentionné avec fierté Sandra Miller, la présidente de l’association. Nos équipes Atome B1, Atome C2 et Midget A ont gagné le championnat et les séries. Elles ont joué des parties très excitantes. Je veux saluer par- ticulièrement le travail des entraîneurs-chefs de ces équipes, soit DannyMyre (Atome B1), Robert Lamonde (Atome C2) et François Ga- lipeau (Midget A) », a soulignéMmeMiller. Cette dernière était bien heureuse de voir autant de gens assister au dernier match des séries alors que leMidget A affrontait Saint- Isidore. « Je n’ai jamais vu le complexe avec autant de gens dans les gradins », a lancé une Sandra Miller enthousiaste. He’s one of the latest inductees to the George Tragos/Lou Thesz Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame, in recognition of his 30-plus years as a professional wrestler, including holding a number of single and tag-team championship titles during his long and action-packed career.
