Grant Vortex HVO biofuel compatible condensing boiler.

Air-to-water, air source heat pumps like the Grant Aerona 3 models are a perfect solution for new builds as the minimised heat loss of these homes perfectly matches this medium temperature technology. Grant’s A+++ Aerona 3 R32 air-to-water air source heat pump is a favourite amongst plumbers and installers throughout the UK and Ireland due to its cleaner, more environmentally friendly performance, its ability to lower a property’s overall carbon footprint, and ultimately help to achieve required compliance under Building Regulations. Each integrated heating package, designed, sized and specified by Grant, features a main heat source like a Grant Aerona 3 heat pump, a hot water storage unit and heat emitters; the Uflex underfloor heating system and/ or Grant Afinia aluminium radiators. Combining Grant’s highly sustainable heating technologies into one complete heating solution has been made simple for plumbers and installers as each product has been designed by Grant to work together seamlessly. Retrofits can be more difficult because the layout, construction and existing heating design of older buildings traditionally incorporated high temperature heating systems. For an older building to become heat pump ready it’s essential that upgrades are made to the building fabric and air tightness before the heat pump installation takes place.

Carrying out a deep retrofit can end up financially impossible for many property owners, which is why Grant has ensured those working in the trade have an alternative option for their customers. For those who decide against the expense of a deep retrofit, upgrading a heating system using an HVO biofuel compatible Grant Vortex boiler provides a cost- effective option which will also prepare the property for its changing heating needs. All new Grant condensing boilers have been manufactured to use HVO through making a slight modification to the boiler, such as adapting the size of the fuel nozzle and fuel pump pressure. Older Grant condensing boilers can also be easily adapted to HVO, but this may require a new biofuel burner that is matched with the specific boiler. Dedicated to ensuring a simple process for those in the building trade, the Grant technical team will design the full integrated heating package for a property, free-of-charge, and work closely with those involved in building the property or upgrading the heating system, to provide help and assurance in terms of correct sizing and specification.
