AVOID CAREGIVER BURNOUT Caregiver burnout is a state of extreme mental and/or physical exhaustion due to the stress of caregiving responsibilities. You may be able to avoid it by regularly taking care of yourself while you take care of your loved one. But if you experience caregiver burnout, you are not alone. Many caregivers experience this level of exhaustion. Practicing self-care regularly, asking for help, and processing your emotions may help you prevent and manage caregiver burnout.
