Location & Scope: Based at the Hoare Lea London office within the greater Kings Cross D Western Transit Shed, 12-13, Stable Street, London, N1C 4AB. Overview This is an exciting opportunity to join a group of engineers specialising in the field of M&E f expert witness services. Formed in 2004 under the leadership of David Sworder, the Group for independence and excellence in its field which is second to none. Group me by their analytical skills, clarity of expression, objective approach and extensive experience attributes, essential in litigation and dispute resolution procedures. Working in the Expert Witness Group you will have the opportunity to investigate and analy variety of projects, both in the UK and overseas, to a level and depth that is unlikely to be e course of normal project work. As a result these vacancies will suit engineers with a strong with an enquiring mind and an ability to solve complex problems. You should also have, or ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical people coupled. Previous experience of litigation or expert witness type work would be helpful but is not ess expected to take on the role of an expert witness from day one but will grow into the role by of the Group. Requirements • Have a degree in their primary engineering discipline and/or Building Services Engineerin • Be a chartered engineer • Be able to communicate complex technical issues to non-technical people in both written • Be able to think logically and construct a logical and cohesive argument • Be able assimilate large amounts of information and rapidly identify the key aspects there • Have a sound general knowledge of industry standards, regulations and guidance • Have an enquiring mind without fixed or pre-conceived ideas • Have exceptional interpersonal skills Although not essential it would be desirable if the appointed person has also:- • Published and/or contributed to technical papers • Contributed to industry guidance • Held office in CIBSE and/or IMechE • Had some previous experience of expert witness work and/or construction litigation • Lives in the south of England or be prepared to move there
