Noakes Group was established in 1979 as a rigging company and for over 40 years has grown and diversified to become a marine industry leader. Today the wholly Australian owned and operated company encompasses two yards located in North Sydney and at Port Huon in Tasmania. We provide comprehensive maintenance and repair services from small yachts to tall ships and power boats to naval craft. Our travel lift has a capacity to lift vessels up to 80 tonnes and our inclined slipway can slip vessels up to 160 tonnes. Noakes also owns a 1000 tonne floating dry dock which is being refitted for larger commercial and defence work. We have a highly skilled and experienced workforce and employ riggers, shipwrights, yard hands, painters, fabricators, engineers, and project managers. Our team works with all materials including, steel, timber, aluminium, carbon and fibreglass. Noakes Group’s capabilities are underscored by the long-term maintenance contracts we continue to service for the Royal Australian Navy and NSW Police Marine Area Command.
