2022 4th Quarter CIP Winners

Becca Dodd, Production A-Shift • Runner Up • $150.00 Her suggestion was to come up with a way to safely lift magnets out of hoppers, which is a human safety concern. She worked with maintenance and the machine shop to create hooks to lift magnets out much easier. Jerry Maronde, Maintenance B-Shift • 1st Place • $250.00 Jerry’s suggestion was to try a new dancing bar design and use proximity sensors instead of micro switches. Dancing bar assembly has been an issue for years, and Jerry’s idea will save a lot of downtime. He worked with the machine shop and we were able to design and make these internally. Ken’s idea was to help improve part of the new employee training process. He wanted to have a tape roll set up for trainees to use (either during orientation or when with trainer), which would allow trainees to get hands on experience with the tape roller while avoiding pressure from the line getting backed up and feeling rushed. This is a great idea that will add a lot of value during the new employee training process. We are working on putting some- thing off-line for people to train with. Ken Franchino, Production A-Shift • Runner Up • $150.00 Will’s idea was to try to make it easier to see between the chain vey rooms of 91 & 83 without having to leave the room and run back and forth between rooms through a hall- way with heavy forklift traffic. This is a great idea, and we are looking at how we can install a door with a window between the rooms. Will Hand, Production C-Shift • Runner Up • $150.00 Christian’s idea was to label the weigh-up drums on the plastic cap of the pallets in the Ingredient Division. He wanted to make it easier to know what is in each drum, which would eliminate the guessing game of which pallet of weigh-ups are for which products. This is a great suggestion that has already been implemented! Christian Maltby, Ing. Production A-Shift • Runner Up • $150.00
