THE

Bollywood ball! Bhangra Workshop

RHYTHM On Tuesday 8th November, the ‘Bhangra Man’ Sohan Kailey visited Abbey. Our Nursery and Reception classes clapped, twisted, skipped and jumped along to the rhythm of Bhangra music. There were shrieks of laughter as the children learnt the moves. Their Bhangra adventure began by discovering the magical box. What could be in the box? A hippo? Unicorns? Crocodiles? Or even a dung beetle? The children then had to search for the key. Once found, they were able to start their journey… The journey started at a farm. The children used the Bhangra moves to pick or dig the vegetables in the fields. Then, they travelled to the ocean and joined the Bhangra Pirates on the ship’s deck. The children had lots of fun joining in with the moves to scrub the ship’s deck and climb the rigging. All the children had the opportunity to dress in traditional Bhangra clothes and create their own dances.

They all had a wonderful time!
