Antipodean antics! Australia Day
SOUTH OF THE EQUATOR The Year 2 children took a trip ‘down under’ on their return to school for 2023, to kick start their Australian topic. They arrived with their boarding cards and got comfortable for their flight to Sydney. As they travelled, they discovered some of the human and physical landmarks. On arrival in Sydney, they researched Australian animals to create a fact file and then made flags for their classroom. The afternoon was devoted to the work of Australian artist Pete Cromer. Children created incredible birds using his signature bursts of colour. The day was completed with stories from Australia.

PERFORMANCE Thank you to you and the wonderful staff at Abbey for giving Aria the boost in confidence she needed to audition recently for the CBSO. Mrs Smith, Miss Hinton and Mrs Falconer have really encouraged and supported her. They have been amazing. Aria took part in her first Choral Christmas and was buzzing. She had a wonderful time.
