Ruby in Y3 is about to ‘ring the bell’!
This is a significant achievement and a moment to be proud of in her battle against leukaemia over the last two and a half years. The end of treatment bell symbolises the end of chemotherapy treatment and being ready to get back to normal life. Ringing the bell is a huge milestone for a child with cancer. Ringing the bell is a moment for the whole family to celebrate – an opportunity to reflect on what’s been an emotional and physical journey, and to think about the future. The end of treatment bell inspires children with cancer to persevere and it brings hope for the future when things are tough. Ruby’s journey has been challenging but her positivity, character, and humour has shone throughout. Her family are grateful for the outstanding support provided to them by Birmingham Children’s Hospital and all at Abbey Infants and Juniors.
