Smartlock TM 400 Alstom’s SmartlockTM 400 System (SML400) is a computer-based interlocking (CBI) system designed specifically as a successor to Solid State Interlocking (SSI) for all signalling applications in the United Kingdom. Compared with SSI, SML400 offers: • Reduction in number of cross-boundary communications required due to increase in potential size of interlocking coverage; • A reduction in the physical size of central interlocking equipment; • Compatibility with current communications technology; • Updated facilities for the maintainer: graphical interface, improved fault analysis; • Improved application engineering tools for test and incident analysis. Smartlock 400 retains the Trackside Functional Modules (TFM) and trackside communications link that are used with SSI. It can interface with a conventional signaller’s entrance/exit (NX) panel and is also compatible with VDU-based Control Systems, such as the Integrated Electronic Control Centre (IECC), or Modular Control System (MCS). Main elements of a typical Smartlock 400 Scheme.
NT & NQ Transformer and Transformer Rectifier Class II Transformers
Class II Transformer Rectifiers Class II double insulated hybrid transformer/rectifier for relay and SSI signalling systems 650V to 120V d.c The Signalling Transformer/Rectifiers provide the interface between class II (Double Insulated) 650V power system and 120Vd.c. points machines, in a signalling system. The construction of the transformer in the transformer/ rectifier allows system compliance with Electricity at Works Regulations and NR/SP/ELP/27243. The internal transformer complies with NR/L2/SIG/30007, issue 2. The internal transformers provide 8kV minimum impulse withstand voltage for supplies greater than 170V in compliance with BS7671 to provide additional protection against ground potential rise in areas with d.c. or a.c. traction systems.
Class II double insulated hybrid transformers/low power-T/J combined units for relay and SSI signalling systems 650V/230V/110V/50Vd.c The signalling transformers provide the interface between class II (Double Insulated) 650/440/400V power system and 110V signalling systems. The outputs include multiple 110V/121/135Va.c and 50Vd.c for signalling, or 230V for telecoms and hot axle box detectors, all depending on part number chosen. The transformers comply with NR/L2/SIG/30007 issue 2 and allow system compliance with Electricity at Works Regulations and NR/SP/ELP/27243. Each transformer provides an 8kV minimum impulse withstand voltage in compliance with BS7671 to provide additional protection against ground potential rise, particularly in areas with d.c. or a.c. traction systems.
