The Gala for Good is a special event to celebrate the incredible spirit of Goodwill showcasing the amazing achievements of our program participants, graduates and community partners. We invite you to be part of the Gala for Good and join us in making a lasting impact on our community. With your support, you will be helping to further Goodwill’s mission of providing individuals with the opportunity to lead independent, successful and productive lives. Your participation will
not only make a difference in the lives of those we serve but also in the lives of those in our community. The evening will begin with a delightful dinner with signature cocktails, beer and wine. After the awards ceremony, guests can dance the night away to Who’s Bad, an incredible national touring act you won’t want to miss. Additionally, there will be a silent and live auction, with all proceeds going to support Goodwill’s mission. Cocktail attire is suggested.

Meet our Co-Chairs
Our 2nd Annual Gala for Good Co-Chairs are longtime friends of Goodwill, Elizabeth and Tom Small. Through their work, they are committed to improving education and employment opportunities in our community. “Sharing Goodwill’s mission and purpose is truly fun,” Elizabeth says. “I love taking co- workers, business owners, and friends to the Goodwill campus for a tour of the Excel Center and the Academy. Everyone at Goodwill is willing to form positive education and workforce partnerships which makes all of Arkansas stronger. Goodwill’s operations are good for the environment, good for job creation, and good for the (my) soul!”
Elizabeth Small Elizabeth has been a member of the Goodwill Board of Directors since 2021 and currently serves as Vice-Chair. In her role as the Director of Business Networks at UA Little Rock and the Instructor of Real Estate Development in the School of Business Economics/ Finance Department, she identifies business partnership opportunities, designs continuing education business programs, and develops
Tom Small Tom Small has 40 years of experience in real estate and finance. Having retired from Bank OZK as a Senior Appraisal Services Officer, he is currently a business advisor in the Goldman Sachs 10K Small Businesses program where he provides guidance for business owners as part of the Goldman Sachs Babson College program. Additionally, he is an adjunct real estate
public presentations highlighting the work of university faculty, students and graduates. Elizabeth has 32 years of experience in the real estate development, management, and commercial construction industries. She is currently on the Hendrix College Board of Trustees, a member of the International Women’s Forum and a mentor in the Venture Center’s WomanAcheive Program. She has played an active role in civic leadership, serving as president of the Rotary Club of Little Rock, chairman of the Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce, and president of Fifty for the Future.

He has also served on the boards of First United Methodist Church Trustees, Hendrix College Alumni Board, Little Rock Westside YMCA, Trinity United Methodist Trustees, and Wildwood Park for the Arts. He has been involved with the American Field Service (AFS) Exchange Student Program and is a former member of the Downtown Kiwanis Club of Little Rock.

Mike Poore 2024 SPIRIT OF GOODWILL AWARD WINNER The Spirit of Goodwill Award is a prestigious accolade that recognizes an individual who has devoted their time, talent and effort to advocate for and promote Goodwill’s mission of “Changing lives through education, training and employment.” This award is not just a title; it is an honor that celebrates the tireless dedication of someone who has gone above and beyond to ensure that those in need have access to the necessary resources and opportunities that can transform their lives. It highlights the importance of community involvement, and the impact one person can have on the lives of many. This year’s Spirit of Goodwill Award winner is none other than Mike Poore. Mike has been a long-time supporter of Goodwill and has played a crucial role in the educational initiatives of the organization. He has been particularly instrumental in helping support the growth of The Excel Center, Goodwill’s high school for adults, to gain legislative support as the first and only adult high school in the state of Arkansas. This achievement is a testament to his unwavering commitment to providing educational opportunities for all, regardless of age or background.

As the longest-running Michael Jackson tribute band, and the only one to predate his untimely passing, Who’s Bad has sold out nearly 50 venues in the United Kingdom including London’s O2 where the King of Pop was slated to end his career. Our Mission Services The funds raised from our generous donors and shoppers stay in Arkansas and fund these programs that change lives through education, training and employment.
The Academy at Goodwill provides opportunities for non- traditional students to earn industry credentials and certifications that lead directly to employment in jobs that guarantee a living wage.
All funds raised will support the mission of Goodwill Industries of Arkansas
The Excel Center® at Goodwill is a tuition-free school for adults who want to earn a high school diploma with flexible class schedules, free on-site childcare and life coaches.
Reentry Services assists individuals who are reentering the workforce and community after a justice-involved situation.
Career Services helps individuals get started on a pathway to a new career. Services are available through our online career portal and in-person at Goodwill.
The Goodwill of Arkansas Foundation provides additional opportunities to make a local impact. Support our mission with gifts of cash, stock, insurance, retirement or leaving us in your will.
